How To Get Ponytail Longer And Thicker

There are tons of hairstyles out there, but none can beat the classic ponytail. Whether you’re looking for a high pony, low pony, braided pony or something a bit sleeker to hide that third-day hair, your go-to style will always be there when you need it most.

A long, thick ponytail just doesn’t have the same effect than a thin, limp one. That’s why we’ve put together this tutorial to show you three ways to instantly create a longer and thicker ponytail using hair extensions: a high pony, a textured pony, and a low pony. These styles are quick and easy to create, which makes them the perfect choice for an everyday pony. By strategically clipping in a few wefts, you can easily amp up your everyday look without the need of an additional faux clip-in ponytail.

Starting at the crown of your head, separate a small section of hair into a ponytail. This will act as a base for the hair extensions you’ll be adding. Take 3 clip-in wefts and clip them onto the base in even intervals from front to back, close to your natural hair tie. Separate some hair about halfway at the front of your head and clip in two clip wefts facing downward. If you want more volume in your pony or have shorter hair, stack two wefts and clip them into this section.

Separate another section of hair toward the crown of your head, flip it upside down, and clip in a 4-clip weft. You’ll want to divide your hair into two sections and clip it in a two-clip weft. Add more volume to the ponytail by adding more clips in the top section, if you’d like. Make sure you flip back your hair mid-way so that it covers up your clips and gives extra volume at the top of your ponytail.
